Cathie Wood's new fund gives small investors access to the VC market for just $500
Cathie Wood's Ark Invest launched a new venture capital fund, targeting individual investors with a minimum investment of just $500.
The actively managed ARK Venture Fund invests in private and public companies focused on technologically enabled innovation, and selectively in other venture capital funds, the company said Tuesday. The fund is available to individual investors initially through investing app Titan, a startup backed by Andreessen Horowitz.
«By launching the ARK Venture Fund, we seek to augment venture capital and private equity, offering all investors access to what we believe are the most innovative companies throughout their private and public market lifecycles,» Wood said in a statement.
The ARK Venture Fund charges a flat management fee of 2.75%.
«We are thrilled to offer this innovative product initially through Titan, a company that shares our mission in democratizing investing, allowing all investors to capitalize on exponential growth opportunities. Additionally, Titan's app enables investors to access the ARK Venture Fund through their Individual Retirement Accounts,» Wood added.
