Bollywood star Aamir Khan, who was recently stranded at Karapakkam, Chennai due to the devastating floods and torrential rain was rescued along with Tamil star Vishnu Vishal and badminton champion Jwala Gutta by the fire and rescue services personnel on December 5.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Tamil Nadu industries minister TRB Rajaa praised the ‘3 Idiots’ star profusely for being patient and cooperating with the rescue team rather than attempting to pull strings and get saved first.
“Astounding that he didn't try to pull any strings to be rescued! Awesome to see him being so grounded and WAITING HIS TURN to be rescued just like any of our fellow citizens. Lessons for those who try to pull strings and drop names!” reads his post.
Vishal also shared his harrowing experience of waiting with Gutta, his wife to be rescued. He also revealed that his house had been flooded. “Thanks to the fire and rescue department for helping people like us who are stranded Rescue operations have started in Karapakkam… Saw 3 boats functioning already Great work by TN govt in such testing times Thanks to all the administrative people who are working relentlessly,” he tweeted.
Among the pictures he tweeted, Vishal can be seen seated in a rescue boat along with his wife Gutta. The ‘PK’ star was spotted sitting next to them. He wore a white kurta and jeans.
Public life in Chennai came to a standstill after the state of Tamil Nadu was devastated by cyclone Michaung. Several roads were disrupted, and houses got submerged in water. The flood, caused by incessant rainfall also caused an Internet outage.
