U.S Presidential Debate 2024 which took place in Philadelphia moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis of ABC News created a lot of controversy with regards to alleged biasness of both towards U.S Vice President Kamala Harris. Following the U.S Presidential Debate, a post was seen circulating over Facebook including the pictures of both the moderators with a caption of, ‘ABC Fires Debate Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis: They Are a Disgrace to Their Profession’. According to USA Today which is a verified signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network, the post and the claim was totally ‘False’.
USA Today after fact checking and verifying the news from multiple genuine sources asserted that the post actually originated from a satirical website named Esspots which belongs to SpaceXMania network of websites on Sept 12 and was disguised and presented as an Authentic and True News whereas there was Zero Truth in the claim. There was no disclaimer whatsoever in the subsequent posts following that which could reiterated the claim, added USA Today.

According to USA Today reports, the controversial Facebook post can actually be termed as a ‘Stolen Satire’ which misleads the readers of the further generation as the stories which are actually written as a satire are being presented as a legitimate news.
