According to reports in Radar Online, Richard's decision to come forward was influenced by the viral hotel surveillance footage that surfaced earlier this year, showing Combs allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Bloom stated that Richard, an accomplished musician, was inspired to share her story after seeing Ventura speak out. According to Bloom, Richard has always been focused on her music but felt compelled to take action to support Ventura and others who have suffered similar experiences.

According to the reports, in the lawsuit, Richard claims that while working for Combs, she endured physical assault, sexual advances, and intense psychological distress. She described an incident where Combs allegedly groped her in her dressing room. Richard also accused Combs of verbally abusing her, calling her names and shaming her in front of producers, bodyguards, and his friends. She further alleges that Combs demanded she strip down and made inappropriate sexual advances during a trip to Glasgow in October 2010.
