Kjersti Flaa, a journalist known for her 2016 interview with Lively, which she described as «the most uncomfortable interview situation I have ever experienced,» addressed rumors of her involvement in the alleged smear campaign. In a video statement, Flaa stated, «I have nothing to do with it. I would never take part in anything like that. That is such an insult to me.»
Flaa explained that her decision to share the 2016 interview was a personal choice, expressing her own experience during the encounter. She emphasized that her actions were not connected to any external campaigns against Lively. Flaa further stated, «I posted the video after I had seen the movie. I didn’t like it. I had a bad experience with Blake Lively, and at that time, I was like, 'I’ve kind of had enough of Hollywood,' so I wasn’t that afraid of being canceled anymore, so I decided to post the video.»
