A recent documentary has sparked intense debate regarding the millions of dollars that King Charles and Prince William received from medieval-era land and property estates, as quoted in a report by Town & Country.
Dispatches, an investigative current affairs program on Channel 4, has highlighted the Duchy of Lancaster and the Duchy of Cornwall. The purpose of these estates, which were founded in 1399 and 1337, respectively, is to generate funds for the sovereign and heir by distributing all net profits to them. William received £23.6 million and the King received £27.4 million from his Duchy in the most recent fiscal year.

However, Dispatches' The King, The Prince and Their Secret Millions has sparked debate by investigating exactly what makes the royals these hefty personal sums. The program claims that the NHS, British Armed Forces, and charities are charged millions for the use of properties and land on the estates.
