The so-called «TikTok refugees,» who are anticipatorily flocking to Chinese social media in anticipation of the video app's planned ban in the United States, are learning that their Chinese counterparts are very interested in the suspected murderer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, as people on X-formerly-Twitter have documented.

Mangione, affectionately called «Lulu» on the app, has apparently become as much of a folk hero in China as he has in the US. While there is much to be said about this vast subject, the Chinese healthcare system is a bit of a mess, with wealth and class clearly buying better care.
