Eddie Murphy is returning to the Beverly Hills Cop franchise as Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop 4. The actor, comedian will be reprising the character of Axel nearly 30 years after the premiere of Beverly Hills Cop 3.

The sequel has been directed by Mark Molloy and besides Eddie Murphy, the star cast includes Kevin Bacon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot.
The script for Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been written by Will Beall, and the film is produced by Eddie Murphy along with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films. The executive producers are Charisse Hewitt-Webster and Ray Angelic.
In the first look photo released by Netflix Axel Foley played by Eddie Murphy is seen with his hands up and wearing a Detroit Lions jacket. He encounters a pair of cops with some onlookers standing behind him and recording the incident on their phones.
This franchise has shifted from Paramount to Netflix in 2019 and follows the adventures of Detroit cop Foley, who first appeared in the 1984 hit which took him to Beverly Hills to solve the murder of a friend.
It may be mentioned that the film became one of the biggest hits and shot Eddie Murphy to international stardom. After the hit, the makers came up with two sequels, one in 1987 and the other in 1994.
The movie also smashed the box office and the first film earned $234 million in the United States. The movie also became the highest grossing domestic release of 1984 and also received an Oscar
