Elon Musk has been committed to reaching Mars with SpaceX for over 20 years. He has stepped up his efforts recently, concentrating on setting up a metropolis on Mars. The 53-year-old billionaire entrepreneur has given SpaceX staff instructions to create spacesuits, plan dome dwellings, and research if it is possible for humans to reproduce on Mars. To assist in starting a colony, he has even donated his sperm. Instead of the 40–100 years, he had previously estimated, his timescale has accelerated, with one million humans expected to inhabit Mars in 20 years, as per the reports of DNYUZ.
Significant challenges to Musk's Mars plan include desolate terrain, freezing temperatures, dust storms, and unbreathable air. Musk wants to travel considerably faster than NASA, which wants to put people on Mars in the 2040s. His goals are reflected in all of his endeavors, including setting up The Boring Company, which builds tunneling apparatus for Mars, and X, the social media network he bought to test out consensus-based government. Mars vehicles are what Tesla's Cyber Trucks are intended to be. The majority of Musk's estimated $270 billion in wealth is earmarked for these Mars projects.
With Starship, a nearly 400-foot reusable rocket designed to carry NASA astronauts to the moon and possibly Mars, SpaceX has made significant progress. Living areas with features like a movie theater and a running track could be found on a starship. Meetings on Mars survival technology, like ice harvesting and good colony locations, have also been held by SpaceX. The most recent Starship models have already undergone successful test flights and are manufactured at Starbase in Texas.
