Merchant checkout network Simpl said it witnessed a 40% surge in consumer spending on its platform during the final. Nitya Sharma, founder and CEO of Simpl said Indians’ support and celebration was quite evident in their online spending patterns with a nearly 40% jump in quick commerce spends as against last year’s 50-over World Cup final. «This was consistent during the match with 8 pm — 11 pm witnessing the most daily spends on quick commerce via Simpl’s 1-tap checkout,» he said.
