Plot and Characters
Goosebumps: The Vanishing focuses on Anthony Brewer, played by David Schwimmer. He is a botany professor dealing with his troubled past. The story follows his children, Cece and Devin Brewer, as they spend their summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn. The twins, played by Jayden Bartels and Sam McCarthy, uncover a series of strange events.

Anthony’s brother disappeared with a group of kids in 1994. Local teens believe ghosts killed them. Anthony investigates the old case, finding evidence that affects him deeply. This leads to the release of a dangerous organism, putting his family and others in danger.
The eight-episode series shows how the mysterious force begins to affect Anthony. It infects him with a strange organism that controls him. As Anthony becomes more affected, more children start to disappear. Cece and Devin realize they must act quickly to stop what is happening to their father before it’s too late.
