According to a daily report of the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), the highest number of 145 roads were closed in Shimla district, followed by 25 in Kullu, 20 in Mandi, 12 in Kinnaur, 9 in Sirmaur, and 6 in Kangra. Three highways, including Manali to Rohtang Pass (NH-03), Aut to Jalori Jot (NH-305), and Gramphu to Losar (NH-505) also remained closed due to heavy snowfall.
A light snowfall was witnessed in upper reaches of Kullu, including Solang Valley, Banjar Valley, and Lug Valley, in Koksar and Sissu in Lahaul Spiti, at the Atal Tunnel, and parts of Kinnaur and Chamba districts.
The meteorological centre, Shimla, said it snowed 16.5 cm in Sangla, 13.7 cm in Kalpa, 15 cm each in Chaupal and Jubbal, 10 cm in Theog, and 11.2 cm in Koksar in the last 24 hours between January 23 and 24.
