In his post, he highlighted the kindness of a man who believed in him when he was just 17. 'This man gave the 17-year-old me a chance, and that changed everything," wrote Chef Suresh Pillai.
«I had a pretty rough start in my late teens, working as a security guard day in and day out,» Pillai began. «I wanted to do something else, but nothing really panned out. Even after walking up to almost all the stores at Bishop Jerome Nagar in Kollam, I ended up at what was my last option: Restaurant 'Chef King'.»
Wearing worn-out slippers and with a weak smile, Pillai approached the restaurant’s reception, desperately asking for any job available. That’s when he met Mani Sir, who looked at him and asked, «What jobs can you do?» Pillai replied that he had once worked at a small tea shop. Mani Sir, after a brief moment, returned and said three words that would change Pillai’s life: «You can join.» With that, Pillai finally had a real job, earning a monthly salary of Rs 450.
