I went to Kapil Dev's house with a pistol: Yograj Singh on being dropped from Indian team
Yuvraj Singh, Yograj Singh, made headlines with his controversial claims yet again. He revealed that he had a near-violent encounter with India's World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev after being dropped from the Indian team.
Yograj talked about how he was angry at Dev for being dropped from the team after the latter became captain of both the North Zone and the Indian cricket team. Yograj, who thought that injustice was done against him, confronted the former captain at his home, armed with a pistol.
“When Kapil Dev became captain of North Zone and India, he dropped me for no reason,” said the 66-year-old in a recent appearance on the podcast «Unfiltered by Samdish».
“I took my pistol out, I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a dozen times. I told him because of you I have lost a friend and what you have done, you will pay for it," said Yograj.
“I told him, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I am not doing it because you have a very pious mother, who is standing here.’ I told Shabnam, ‘Let’s go.’ That was the moment I decided I would not play cricket, Yuvi will play,” added Yograj.
