The man is said to be a 24-year-old youth from Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
He was booked for posing as a pilot with Singapore Airlines in front of CISF personnel. The CISF is in charge of airport security across the country.
According to reports, the person was nabbed by CISF after he was spotted wandering in the Metro Skywalk area of Delhi airport wearing the uniform of a Singapore Airlines pilot. He reportedly had a fake ID around his neck.
When security officials intercepted and questioned him, he revealed his identification as Sangeet Singh from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
Security officials also found a Singapore Airlines ID for in-flight operations on him. However, upon checking, it was confirmed to be fake.
According to police officials, the 24-year-old forged the ID using an online app, Business Card Maker, and purchased the uniform and accessories from Pilot 18, Sector 9, Dwarka, in the national capital.
Investigations revealed that the person pursued and completed a one-year Aviation Hospitality course in Mumbai in 2020. However, he tricked his family and acquaintances into believing that he had landed a job as a pilot for Singapore Airlines, according to the probe.
A case under sections 420, 468, and 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused, who was apprehended, the official added.
