Bengaluru has stirred a conversation on social media. The ad, featuring a man with a curious expression, had the text "Wife North Indianaaa?" implying a solution for making rasam instantly.
A Twitter user, Tejas Dinkar, shared the ad, expressing his displeasure, stating it was sexist and insulting to both the north and south Indian populations.
«Today, I came across an ad that seems to be both sexist and insulting to both North and South India (from r/bangalore),» said Tejas Dinkar, sharing the image of the ad on X (formerly callled twitter).
However, opinions on the ad were divided, with some users finding it offensive and others suggesting a different perspective.
While some argued that the ad might be offensive to those where the wife is a north Indian homemaker, others urged for a more nuanced view, suggesting that it might promote national integration by encouraging marriage ties between North and South India.
«Not sure if it's offensive to the millions where the wife is a north Indian home maker. We need to stop taking offence at every opportunity,» a user said.
«Also insulting rasam,» another user said.
