IRCTC) has announced a collaboration with online food delivery platform Swiggy to supply and deliver pre-ordered meals to passengers.
The delivery of the pre-ordered meals will be done through IRCTC’s e-catering portal.
During the initial stage, Swiggy will provide services to IRCTC customers at four railway stations – Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

The service is likely to expand to 59 additional city stations in the coming weeks.
“The e-catering service through Bundl Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Swiggy Foods) may be available soon," the company said.
This is the second tie-up between IRCTC and a food aggregator in the last two years.
Last year, IRCTC partnered with the food delivery platform Zomato for the supply and delivery of pre-ordered via its e-catering portal at New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi railway stations.
“The Indian Railways are the lifeline of our nation, transporting more than 8 billion passengers annually. If during these rail journeys, one has the option to order meals to explore the culinary diversity of India, it would make the experience more convenient and enjoyable, and add to the overall vividness of the train travel," said Rohit Kapoor, CEO, food marketplace, Swiggy.
