Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu backs Donald Trump’s 'Gaza takeover' proposal, says ‘what’s wrong with letting Gazans leave?

In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu reiterated his stance, saying, “The actual idea of allowing Gazans who want to leave to leave. I mean, what’s wrong with that? They can leave, they can then come back, they can relocate and come back. But you have to rebuild Gaza.” His remarks came as international criticism of the plan continued to mount.
Trump’s Vision for Gaza
Trump first introduced his proposal during a White House press conference, outlining a plan for the US to take ownership of Gaza and oversee its redevelopment. «We will own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site,» he said.
Trump’s plan also involves levelling destroyed buildings and launching an economic programme to provide employment and housing. «I do see a long-term ownership position, and I see it bringing great stability to that part of the Middle East and maybe the entire Middle East,» he told reporters.
Emphasising support for the resettlement of Palestinians, Trump added, “This was not a decision made lightly, everybody I've spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land.”
