Sawant had scheduled a Google Meet interview with a candidate who had applied for a social media executive position. Since the candidate’s resume lacked sufficient information for an immediate hire, Sawant arranged a video call to assess their potential and determine if they could start as an intern.
The interview started on a rocky note. The candidate joined the call with their camera off, citing an iOS update that supposedly prevented video calls. Sawant asked how they typically managed their work, to which the candidate replied that they used a laptop provided by their previous employer. Sawant requested the candidate to reschedule the interview for a time when their video could be turned on, emphasizing the need for a face-to-face interaction. The candidate agreed but abruptly ended the call, displaying a tone that was off-putting from the start.
What followed was even more shocking. The candidate, growing defensive and agitated, lashed out with offensive language. «With all due respect, don't be a b**ch. The arrogance you speak with,» they messaged.
