Jyoti Maurya has been at the receiving end of social media wrath over the past few days. Her story and the domino effect it has set is anything but boring. Now you may ask who is Jyoti Maurya? Jyoti Maurya is a Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) who allegedly left her husband, Alok, after becoming a civil servant in Uttar Pradesh, triggering the "Jyoti Maurya Bewafaa Hai" and trouble for some married women who aspire to have a better life.

We tell you how... A man, labourer by profession, from Jharkhand has alleged that his wife has gone missing ever since she secured a job as a nurse. In another case, Pintu Singh from Buxar of Bihar has called back his wife, Khushbu Kumari, from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh for fear that she would leave him if she cracks a government job.

In this case, too, Khushbu was preparing for state civil service examinations. Pintu went as far as to refuse support for his wife's continued education. The source of these actions is but one -- “Jyoti Maurya Bewafaa Hai".

But the story of Jyoti Maurya doesn’t just end at dhokha (betrayal), it has more – adultery, corruption and murder conspiracy. All alleged, of course.
