‘Kalki 2898 AD’ on a rampage! Prabhas’s movie crosses $2.6 mn in advanced booking in the US
Nag Ashwin’s epic sci-fi fantasy ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is all set to be a global juggernaut! Advance ticket bookings for the Prabhas-Deepika Padukone-starrer have been nothing short of phenomenal! According to a report shared by Prathyangira Cinemas, which is in charge of the movie’s distribution in North America, the magnum opus has sold more than 77K tickets and earned a staggering $2.6 million in advanced sales.
Sharing a poster of the movie, the X handle of the movie wrote, “RAMPAGE in TOP GEAR. Kalki 2898 AD total North American pre-sales crossed $2.6 Million. Prabhas' game is going to be wild in the coming days.”
If the demand remains steady, ‘Kalki’ can overtake SS Rajamouli's epic period drama ‘RRR’, which amassed an impressive $2.75 million in terms of advanced ticket sales in the US.
According to a Times Of India report, during the movie’s promotional event in Mumbai, Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan, who is playing the role of Ashwatthama in the movie, bought the first ticket from producer C Aswani Dutt and gifted it to his co-star Kamal Haasan. Haasan plays the role of the chief antagonist Supreme Yaksin in the movie.
A video of the three stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Rana Daggubati competing with each other to assist a regnant Deepika Padukone to the stage has gone viral.
