US Vice-President Kamala Harris who is also the presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic party has appointed Jen O’Malley Dillon as her new campaign chief. This development comes immediately after US President Joe Biden has ended his election campaign. Dillon has served as the campaign chief of the Biden election team.

This appointment has been criticized by many individuals. Many Democrats have also criticized this decision. After the first presidential debate, Biden’s popularity ratings had considerably fallen, donors had refused to donate and other Democrats had called on the president to end his campaign. It is this track record that is under sharp focus as Harris picked her campaign chief. She had also successfully ensured that Biden won the US Presidential Election in 2020.
