Though Harris’s campaign picked up the pace quickly, it broke fundraising records, and significantly cut into Donald Trump’s previous lead in polls, she is yet to hold the ground as far as the voters' base is concerned. Axelrod has said that Kamala Harris has a lot of momentum, but this is still a tight race. He said further that there’s a lot of irrational exuberance in the Democratic Party at present because there was despair for some period of time about what November was gonna look like.
The Democrat strategist also said in clear terms that Donald Trump is still ahead and it is his race. He also said that the former president is ahead in most of the battleground states, these states are close and can be won by either candidate.
