NBC News shows that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump by 5 percentage points. This comes after Harris was selected as the Democratic candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
The survey conducted between September 13-17 among 1,000 registered voters reveals that 48% of respondents view Harris positively, compared to 32% in July. This marks the largest increase in favorability for any politician in NBC polls since President George W. Bush's ratings rose after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
In contrast, 40% of respondents view Trump positively, a slight increase from 38% in July. The poll's margin of error is 3 percentage points.
A separate poll by CBS News also reflects Harris leading Trump by 4 percentage points, with 52% of likely voters supporting her compared to 48% for Trump. This poll, conducted among 3,129 registered voters from September 18-20, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
Both polls are consistent with recent national surveys, including those by Reuters/Ipsos, indicating a tight race as the November 5 election approaches. Although national polls are indicative, the Electoral College votes from key battleground states will ultimately determine the winner.
