TMC and BJP on Monday engaged in a war of words after TMC MP Saket Gokhale shared an alleged video of a girl dancing in a 'protest for RG Kar'.
Taking to social media platform X, Gokhale shared a video of a girl dancing in the backdrop of posters that read 'justice for our sister'. He accused the BJP of hijacking a protest for political agendas.
«Sickening! This is allegedly from a “protest for RG Kar” organized by BJP in Bengal. Is THIS BJP’s idea of “respecting women”? Creepy BJP misogynists hijacked a protest for political agendas with ZERO concern for the victim or any woman,» Gokhale stated.
In response to the allegation, the BJP posted a video claiming that the girl in question was not dancing at a protest, but a 'Puja Pandal'. The saffron party refuted the claim that this video has any association with it, and instead accused the West Bengal government of 'floating insulting videos of the RG Kar victim'.
Further, the BJP slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of nominating 'non Bengali speaking trolls to the Rajya Sabha', demanding her resignation.
