Lady Gaga paid tribute to the legendary singer Tony Bennett, who passed away on July 21 this year at 96. In an Instagram post on July 31, Lady Gaga said that she will miss her friend forever, and “miss singing with him, recording with him, talking with him, being on stage together". The post has a picture, where Tony and Gaga are seen in a warm embrace.

But it wasnt an act. Our relationship was very real,” wrote Lady Gaga. She went on to say how he taught her “about music, about showbiz life”, but that he also showed her “how to keep my spirits high and my head screwed on straight.
«Straight ahead,» he'd say. He was an optimist, he believed in quality work AND quality life.” She said he was a grateful fellow, saying, “Tony was always grateful”. She informed how he “served in World War II” “marched with Martin Luther King Jr.”, and “sang jazz with the greatest singers and players in the world”.
“I've been grieving the loss of Tony for a long time. We had a very long and powerful goodbye,” informed Lady Gaga. She wrote how despite their age difference, they were friends.
“Though there were 5 decades between us, he was my friend. My real true friend. Our age difference didn’t matter-- in fact, it gave us each something neither of us had with most people.
