Salomé has called cyber threats one of the «biggest threats to global security,» warning that digitalisation has made nations vulnerable to devastating attacks. “This is not just a war of men, but of machines, and in this aspect, what comes next?” he asked.
He emphasised concerns over the potential for large-scale hacker attacks that could paralyse infrastructure and defence systems. “Recent mutual accusations of cyber espionage [between the United States and China] raised the concern over a devastating imminent hacker attack that might paralyse the defence systems or infrastructure,” Salomé stated.
Pointing to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Salomé highlighted how advanced military technology is fuelling conflict. He referred to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s statement that “Russia is ready to protect itself ‘by any measure,’” noting that the use of high-tech equipment is intensifying
