NCAA men’s basketball tournament is witnessing four Sweet 16 games on Friday, March 28, as fans gear up to see their favourite side making it to the Elite Eight matchups.
With Final Four for March Madness just around the corner, the live coverage on Friday will begin in Atlanta in the evening, followed by the tip offs in Indianapolis. Set to be in action are the top four seeds, including the 2024’s national runner-up, USA Today reported.
Here's all you need to know about the four matches today:
1. Michigan State Spartans vs Mississippi
The No. 2 seed Michigan State are pitted against No. 6 seed Ole Miss Rebels (Mississippi) at the State Farm Arena. The Spartans advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second time in the last three years after defeating No. 10 seed New Mexico 71-63 on Sunday.
On the other side, Mississippi bagged a 91-78 win over Iowa State Cyclones to make its spot in the top 16.

Both seeding and background of the two sides seems to be in the Spartans' favor as they have been a regular side in Sweet 16 whereas Mississippi last managed to reach this level way back in 2001.

Kentucky Wildcats (No. 3) will be going head-to-head against No. 2 seed Tennessee Volunteers in a high-stakes battle in the Sweet 16 on Friday.
The Volunteers got their spot to this round after a comfortable 67-58 win over UCLA. In the match, the team had control early in the game, with a 32-25 lead into halftime. They later maintained their dominance throughout the second half.
