However, according to 'Collider', director Ti West said that he has an idea for a fourth film in the franchise. But any decision may be taken only after the franchise's third film, 'MaXXXine' is released.
Mia Goth reprises one of her two roles in X and the plot follows her after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey toward fame. With this, she also sets out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles. Earlier, her character was caught in a massacre but she somehow escaped it. After going through childhood trauma, she becomes a Hollywood star eventually. The film is all about chasing the American Dream.
In the original film X, a small crew of filmmakers and actors rent a farmhouse on an elderly couple’s property so they can shoot their low-budget X-rated film. Mia Goth plays dual roles in the film as Maxine and an elderly woman. She portrays an aspiring actress, and Pearl, an elderly woman who identifies with Maxine.
According to 'Deadline', 'MaXXXine' will premiere on July 5, 2024.
