When US president Donald Trump took office in 2016 and moved into the White House, the tension between his daughter and wife because of power struggle came into focus, according to Daily Mail. Both fought over everything from office space to foreign trips and even certain policy issues, reported Daily Mail, citing insiders.
Melania initially stayed in New York with her son Barron to finish his school year and didn't arrive in Washington until the summer of 2017, according to the report. Meanwhile, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, quickly relocated her own family to Washington and took on much of the first lady's traditional duties, reported Daily Mail.
