US President- elect Donald Trump has expressed his ‘complete and total’ support for House Speaker Mike Johnson just ahead of a crucial vote on his leadership later this week, reported USA Today.

According to USA Today, in a post on Truth Social, US President- elect Donald Trump eventually praised House Speaker Mike Johnson as a ‘good, hard working, religious man’ and emphasized on the fact that they would continue to ‘WIN’ together. Adding onto that, this endorsement actually comes at a time when Mike Johnson faces dissatisfaction from some Republicans after a recent bipartisan funding agreement that angered parts of the GOP.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk also voiced his support for House Speaker Mike Johnson shortly after US President- elect Donald Trump's endorsement. However, at the same time, key conservative figures which include Republican Thomas Massie have indicated they will not back Mike Johnson while citing concerns about his collaboration with Democrats and the need for a stronger legislative branch.
With Republicans holding a slim majority in the House, House Speaker Mike Johnson can afford to lose only a few votes to retain his position, asserted USA Today.
