As the latest entry in Capcom’s blockbuster franchise and the successor to Monster Hunter: World—the best-selling game in Capcom’s history—expectations were high.
Digital Foundry recently shared their technical review of the game, breaking down the three display modes available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, along with their impact on resolution and performance.
Among these modes, only Resolution mode offers 60 FPS gameplay. It targets a 900p resolution but can drop as low as 720p during demanding sequences, scaling up to 1080p in less intensive moments. However, the lower resolutions result in blurrier visuals and noticeable visual cutbacks, such as simplified reflections and reduced detail levels.
