Since taking charge in 2023, they have greenlit multiple films and series designed to unify storytelling across platforms.
DC Studios plans to release two live-action and one animated film per year, alongside two live-action and two animated series for Max. However, for 2025, only one series—Peacemaker Season 2—is confirmed, set for an August premiere, according to Deadline.
Speaking at a press conference at Warner Bros’ headquarters in Burbank, Peter Safran said that he and Gunn have successfully unified the DC brand. He confirmed that DC Studios has greenlit five theatrical films, developed three live-action series and is producing five animated series.
Gunn and Safran’s primary focus is ensuring narrative consistency across all projects. They aim to eliminate past instances where DC characters existed in separate, often contradictory, storylines.
