New York was heavily flooded thanks to incessant rains.
The devastating flood disrupted the traffic and also made people abandon their cars and adopt unconventional methods of travelling such as water bikes!
As news of NYC being flooded went viral, netizens on X (formerly Twitter), reacted with various degrees of horror, humour, and empathy.
Sharing a clip of residents wading through the waters in water bikes, an X user quipped, “Well New York is friggin flooding.
People's ways of travel have changed !”
A media handle shared a clip of an elderly woman trying to make her way through a flooded subway.
Politician, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez rued against the lack of National Flood Insurance as it would make rehabilitation of flood victims difficult. “New York is experiencing disastrous flooding and a Republican shutdown means the National Flood Insurance Program will expire tomorrow night.
