A senator yelled and accused King Charles of committing genocide against their people, causing chaos during his speech to the Australian parliament on Monday.
The 75-year-old monarch, who has cancer, is currently on a five-day tour of Australia with his wife, Queen Camilla, as part of an official state visit. The king is visiting Australia for the first time in his capacity as monarch.
Indigenous senator Lidia Thorpe hurried to the stage as soon as he finished his speech in Canberra's Great Hall of Parliament House on Monday, as quoted in a report by the New York Post.
