According to an obituary published by a Pennsylvania-based funeral home, they were born in 1961 and were the oldest conjoined twins alive to date.
Leibensperger Funeral Homes in Hamburg mentioned in their obituary that they were born in Pennsylvania itself and were featured in the Guinness Book of World Records, according to the NY Post. Based on the report, it was mentioned that their skulls were partially fused to each other and shared almost 30% of their brains. Moreover, they also shared vital blood vessels.
According to recent reports, this is one of the rarest form of twinning which happens in almost 2-6% in overall cases of twinning. Lori and George shared every moment of togetherness but were very much alike in terms of careers and personalities. They chose different professional routes and had very different attributes in terms of conversation and aptitude.
