Adrien Brody's Best Actor acceptance speech during the Oscars 2025 on Sunday now stands as the longest in the history of Academy Awards, according to the Guinness World Records.
Brody was nominated in the prestigious category along with Timothée Chalamet for A Complete Unknown, Sebastian Stan for The Apprentice, Colman Domingo for Sing Sing and Ralph Fiennes for Conclave.
The 51-year-old bagged the honour for his portrayal of Hungarian-Jewish architect László Tóth in The Brutalist.
Adrien Brody's longest Oscars speech
Ignoring the standard 45-second timer, Brody went on to speak on the stage for a whopping five minutes and 40 seconds, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He has now left behind Greer Garson, who spoke for five minutes and 30 seconds when she was announced as the winner for Mrs. Miniver way back in 1943. However, there is no footage available for Garson's speech in its entirety.
