At New York Comic-Con, it was confirmed that Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will have a second season. This renewal happened before the release of the first season. The announcement took place during the Star Trek Universe panel at the event.
Plot
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will follow a group of new Starfleet cadets. These cadets are learning how to become officers in the Starfleet. The show will explore their friendships, rivalries and personal challenges. The cadets will face new enemies that threaten both the Academy and the Federation. They are all united in their goal of hope and optimism.

Cast and Characters
The cast for the series includes Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané and Zoë Steiner. Holly Hunter will play the role of the captain and chancellor of the Academy, and Paul Giamatti will play the villain of the season.
