Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls
Oriental Trimex(up 16.53%), Ashapura Minechem(up 12.72%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 5.56%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 4.30%), KIOCL(up 1.94%), MOIL(up 1.10%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.04%) stood among the top gainers. Lexus Granito(down 4.67%), Aro Granite Industries(down 3.40%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.64%) and Pokarna(down 1.49%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 114.8 points down at 19428.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 365.53 points at 65322.65. HCL Technologies(up 3.28%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.03%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.96%), Reliance Industries(up 0.42%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.38%), Tata Steel(up 0.25%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.19%), State Bank of India(up 0.09%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.07%) and LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.02%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
