Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.12% in an upbeat market
ICICI Bank(up 0.74 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.58 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.39 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.37 per cent) and IDFCBANK(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers. AU Small Finance Bank(down 1.35 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 0.6 per cent), Federal Bank(down 0.52 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.51 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 0.46 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.12 per cent at 44934.9 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 54.65 points at 19571.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 191.83 points at 65913.08.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red. Shares of Reliance Power, Indian Railway Fin, Zomato, Vodafone Idea and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Birla Cable, Motor Gen Fin, Patel Integrat, Universal Cable and Ethos Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Synoptics Technologi, BKM Industries, SMVD Poly Pack and Godha Cabcon & Insul hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
