Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.26% in a weak market
Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.93 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.49 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.44 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 2.31 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.69 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.26 per cent at 44473.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 64.5 points at 19651.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 211.91 points at 65906.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IOB, Reliance Power, YES Bank and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
