Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.23% in an upbeat market
Bank of Baroda(up 0.68 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.45 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.32 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.23 per cent at 44315.1 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.25 points at 19606.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 190.93 points at 65822.5.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ujjivan SFB and Infibeam Avenues were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
