Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.77% in an upbeat market
Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 2.37 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.58 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.87 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.77 per cent at 32556.7 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 113.1 points at 19625.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 376.49 points at 65888.88.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
Shares of Infibeam Avenues, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, JP Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of N K Industries, Prestige Estate, Adhunik Industries, Ajmera Realty and Guj Mineral Dev. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Themis Medicare, Baid Leasing, Winsome Yarns, Rajesh Exports and ideaForge Technology hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
