Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.87% in a weak market
Cipla Ltd.(up 1.82 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.61 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.49 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and Pfizer Ltd.(down 0.19 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.87 per cent at 15111.65 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 99.0 points at 19565.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 356.62 points at 65588.85.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IFCI, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mohit Inds, Signet Ind, D P Wires, Vipul Ltd and Gillanders Arbu hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Yasons Chemex Care, Vedanta, Madhusudan Masala, Nuvama Wealth Manage and Chavda Infra hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
