Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.48 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 1.43 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.82 per cent at 15145.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 105.75 points at 19651.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 349.86 points at 65981.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ujjivan SFB and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
