Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 1.37% in a weak market
Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.85 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Sanofi India Ltd.(down 2.63 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 2.13 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.01 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.85 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(down 1.8 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.37 per cent at 14597.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 219.3 points at 18902.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 707.66 points at 63341.4.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 1 were trading in the green, while 49 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, JP Power, YES Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
