Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.54% in an upbeat market
GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.55 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.18 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.05 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.97 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.95 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Granules India Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.33 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.09 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.05 per cent) and Pfizer Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.54 per cent at 14963.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 130.9 points at 19361.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 423.7 points at 64787.48.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 were trading in the green, while 2 were in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Reliance Power, YES Bank, Zomato and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of IFGL Refractories, JP Power, Industrial Invst, Hitech Corporation and Hind Rectifiers hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Blue Coast Hotel, Sheetal Cool, Penta Gold, Compuage Infocom and Fourth Dimension Sol hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
