Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.36% in a weak market
IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.97 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.38 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 2.96 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 2.19 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.92 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.36 per cent at 46644.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 86.91 points at 22125.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 323.55 points at 72819.25.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Jio Financial Servic, Infibeam Avenues and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Moksh Ornaments Ltd., AVG Logistics, Associated Alch, Zaggle Prepaid Ocean and Pilani Invest hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rajshree Polypack, Vibhor Steel Tubes, Radaan Media, Orient Refractories and N K Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
