Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.44%
Shares of Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.47 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.28 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 1.0 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.57 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, State Bank of India(down 2.01 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.55 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), Canara Bank(down 0.85 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.44 per cent down at 50158.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 43.4 points at 23559.95, while the BSE Sensex stood down 197.97 points at 77860.19.
