Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.42% in an upbeat market

Infosys Ltd.(up 0.39 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.73 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.42 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.42 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.42 per cent at 39281.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 11.71 points at 22565.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 177.25 points at 74631.66.
